It’s full of flavor and none of the added carbohydrates. The Hibachi chicken and vegetables were also very good. Both are good choice if you are looking for a healthier alternative without sacrificing taste.
The buffet includes just about every exotic item you can think of, like crawfish, frog legs and octopus to name a few but for those a little less adventurous, there are safer choices available.
The macaroni and cheese was really cheesy and the crab meat and cheese was pretty decadent.
There’s also a pretty extensive fruit and salad bar.
When you get down to it, with any buffet, your main concerns should be how long the food sits around and how often it’s replaced.
That’s the main thing that’s going to determine the quality of the food you are eating and whether you are getting your money’s worth.
I guess the best way to explain that situation at Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is that getting photos for this article proved difficult because of the movement at all of the buffet bars.
Food was constantly being replaced-and this was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, which by no means is a rush time for any restaurant.
Another thing I noticed was that the hot foods were genuinely hot and the cold items were actually cold.
The sushi was good. I didn’t have a single bite that had a fishy taste to it. All of it was properly chilled and it was a good experience.
The hibachi grill includes a raw bar where you can pick your own seafood and/or steak and have the chef cook it in front of you.
As far as desserts go, you need to try the banana pudding. It’s very good. It pounds your taste buds with banana flavor.
The price range at Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is roughly $10-$12 per person for dinner when you figure in drinks, and it’s a little cheaper for lunch. The restaurant is open from 11 am until 10 pm every day.
A little something for everyone
(Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet offers value, diversity by Justin Griffin(Journal Copy Editor)
Winchester VA. – It’s often a sign of bravery when a restaurant in its name like “supreme,” as does Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet in Winchester.
With a buffet that includes 350 different items, a sushi bar and a hibachi grill that cooks items on demand at no extra charge, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet may not be a all that far off in its namesake.
If you leave this place without a good meal, it’s your own fault.
One of the highlights of the buffet is the crab wrapped in bacon. The crab wrapped in bacon is a master stroke. If you try it, you’ll get it every time you pass it. It’s almost addictive.
Some of the typical Chinese dishes include a honey chicken and a sesame chicken. Both are sweet in nature but finish differently. The honey chicken finishes off with a pure sweet flavor where there’s sesame flavor with the sesame chicken.
One of the more interesting flavor combinations was the peanut butter chicken.
Peanut butter chicken. Let that one soak in for a minute.
The amazing thing is, it worked. It was a good mixture of sweet and salty. But I felt guilty after I ate it.
The dumplings-fried and steamed-were also very good.
If you are trying to avoid the deep fried fare, the salt and pepper shrimp is a really good choice.
